The largest taimen

Along with the Siberian taimen Hucho taimen Pallas, 1773, the Sakhalin taimen is the largest of salmon, and in general one of the biggest freshwater fishes of the planet. The greatest registered length of Sakhalin taimen exceeds two meters: in the Tokatsugava River to Hokkaido in 1937 the individual of 210 cm has been caught. The mass of such large fishes could reach 100 kilograms, and age – more than 30 years.
