A large review article by O. V. Zelennikov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, «Japanese huchen Parahucho perryi: features of morphology, distribution, abundance, and biology» was published in the Izvestia TINRO magazine.

The information available in the literature on the systematic position, intraspecific differentiation, distribution, population dynamics, physiology and various aspects of the biology of the Sakhalin taimen Parahucho perryi was summarized. The author analyzed 192 sources, and most importantly, supported the desire to restore and preserve the unique species of salmon throughout the range.
