Workshop at Tahoe Lake

At Tahoe Lake (Nevada, USA), a workshop was held to assess the status of taimens. On the first day it was held as an online conference, at which Dmitry Lisitsyn made a report on the protection of the Sakhalin taimen in the Nabil river basin and Mikhail Skopets with observations on the difference in the color of the western and eastern populations of the Siberian taimen. Hua Li's report was devoted to the conservation of the Sichuan taimen. Then there were several brief reports of students working on the study of the Siberian taimen population in Mongolia.

In conclusion, three reports of Japanese specialists. Kentaro Morita spoke about a detailed study of the Sakhalin taimen in Hokkaido. Akihito Goto clarified the data on the migration history of the Sakhalin taimen by studying otoliths. And Michio Fukushima spoke about the use of the ecoDNA method on the Sarufutsu River.
