In the Sakhalin region there is no icthyological especially protected territory. Moreover, rare and endangered species of fishes aren't included into lists of protected species of fauna on the existing regional OOPT.

Carrying out the analysis of gaps of the OOPT system concerning protection of the Sakhalin taimen, change of the modes of the existing OOPT and creation of new OOPT is offered.

In particular, there is already a Justification of creation of OOPT "Nabil River".
